Tubing down the river is the perfect way to spend a sunny day. You will find a number of rivers that are ideal for tubing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and other activities. But, if you are tubing in NJ, you have to go to the Delaware River. It offers the best spot for a perfect summer adventure; just plop yourself on a tube and drift leisurely on the clear waters of the Delaware River. Above all, you just want to have fun! So, for your convenience, we have compiled a list of tips to help you make your tubing experience more fun, exciting and safe.

Here, goes the list:

Bring more people with you! It’s the salt of the whole recipe. With friends and family, the river activities get much more exciting. You could even tie the tubes and float together. However, take care of the narrow paths. They will help remind you certain things to do, help you paddle in the right direction and other small stuffs.

  • Don’t forget to use a sunscreen. Apply it before going in the water and then in every hour. Now, you don’t have to worry about getting burned. It is also advised not to go into the water too often; or use sunscreen in short intervals. Remember to spray some on your feet. To protect your scalp from getting burned, wear a big round hat! Even better, bring an umbrella! Plus, don’t forget to hydrate yourself; bring as much cold water and snacks as you can! For long routes, this could be a really good idea.

  • Bring shoes instead of flip flops; preferably water shoes. It could be really tough to walk around the rocks and sands on flip flops. Moreover, you might step on something dangerous in the water; so, it’s always safe to have protected feet. You don’t want anything to bother you during the trip!

  • Bring some extra clothing; just in case you get wet or need to change for other reasons. It’s always a good idea to get additional shirts or T-shirts. Bring cooler and extra tubes to hold personal stuffs.

  • Above all, remember to carry cash at all times. Figure out, how much you will be spending for the tube along with the bus rides, souvenirs, snacks and other knick-knacks.

  • Get a waterproof radio for more fun. During the long stretches of float you will definitely want something music!

Tubing is a great fun and relaxing water activity that everybody should participate at least once a year! Moreover, it is probably the safest way to enjoy the river. If you ever get the opportunity, do it! It’s relaxing, inexpensive and lets you have a good time. Stay safe!
